Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are based in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, highlights 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that features a number of comforts aside from the gambling den, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
